\u2776 Do Not Continue Driving<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

When you first notice that your vehicle is overheating, it is\ncrucial to pull over and stop the car immediately.  An overheating car should never be\ndriven.  This can be very dangerous.  Wait until your car is entirely cooled down\nbefore starting the engine again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2777 Never Check the Radiator Fluid <\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Checking your fluid levels in your radiator when the car is\noverheating is simply asking for trouble. \nIt can be extremely dangerous. \nThere is a lot of pressure built up beneath the radiator cap.  Boiling hot fluids and steam can shoot out at\nhigh speeds, potentially burning and injuring anyone in its path.  Determine whether or not you are on an inline\nfor accurate fluid readings.  If the car\nis not level, the fluids cannot be level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2778 Never Use Cold Water on a Hot Engine<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

When a car\u2019s engine has overheated, do not put cold water in\nthe vehicle.  Not only can this damage\nthe engine block and cause it to crack, it can lead to other severe auto\ndamages and costly repairs.  Let a car\ncool down completely, as mentioned earlier, before tending to an overheated\nengine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
